Not yet — our approval is pending. We have built the course to Tennessee's 4-hour Driver Education Course standard, but the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security has not yet completed its review of our program, so the course is not open for enrollment.

Tennessee drivers generally take this course for one of four reasons:

• Point removal after a speeding conviction: you must have received a letter from the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security telling you that you are eligible.
• Court requirement or ticket dismissal: a judge or clerk has ordered the course, or has offered it in exchange for dismissing a minor violation.
• Insurance discount: many Tennessee insurers reduce premiums for drivers who complete a driver education course.
• Voluntary improvement: any driver who wants to refresh their knowledge of Tennessee traffic law.

Yes, for a speeding conviction, if you meet the state's conditions:

• Up to 5 points may be removed for a speeding conviction.
• You must finish within 90 days of the date of your speeding conviction.
• Only the points are removed — the conviction itself stays on your record.
• Once every four years. This option can be applied to only one speeding conviction in a four-year period.
• You must have the eligibility letter from the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security. The letter states how many points the Department will remove.

The course is 4 hours, made up of six content modules plus the final exam. Each page has a minimum reading time before you can advance, which is how we account for the required hours. You can complete it over as many sessions as you like — your progress is saved automatically, so you can stop and pick up exactly where you left off.

The Tennessee final exam is 20 multiple-choice questions drawn from a larger question bank, so a retake gives you a fresh set.

• You need 80% to pass — 16 of the 20 questions.
• Retakes are unlimited and free. There is no waiting period between attempts in Tennessee.
• Our AI assistant is available during the exam to explain concepts you are unsure about.

Once you pass:

• Download your certificate of completion immediately from the completion page.
• For point removal: send your certificate to the Financial Responsibility Division, P.O. Box 945, Nashville, TN 37202-0945, by mail or fax.
• For a court requirement: deliver your certificate to the court, clerk, or agency that ordered the course, by their deadline.
• For an insurance discount: give a copy to your insurance company.

No — these are two different Tennessee programs, and it matters which one you need.

• 4-hour Driver Education Course (this course): traffic school, used for speeding point removal, ticket dismissal, and insurance discounts.
• 8-hour defensive driving class: the course the Department refers drivers to through the Driver Improvement Program, generally after accumulating 12 or more points in a 12-month period (6 or more for drivers under 18) and attending an administrative hearing.

If you received a notice of proposed suspension or were told to attend a hearing, you likely need the 8-hour class, which we do not currently offer. Check your letter from the Department if you are unsure.
